Well, after nine years, my daughter finally got her first offer for damage and injury suffered through the motorcycle accident she was involved in. She decided to accept their offer as she just wants the whole episode behind her now. She has now lost count of the amount of times she has spent in various hospitals having remedial work done in terms of fitting, removing and moving of various pins and plates necessary to align her bones*, cosmetic surgery to try to hide scars and outpatient appointments for counselling for her panic attacks. Also included were payments for clothing damaged, ie helmet, jacket, trousers and boots as well as other clothing damaged through being blood-stained.
*I also cannot remember how many times I have had to pick her up to take her to hospitals in Hitchin, Bedford, Cambridge, Stevenage and Cambridge, and home again on discharge.
All because a spare wheel came adrift from the car in front on the A1(M).
