I've had my 2000 Nissan Patrol for 8 years and am in the process of trying to sell it on and have just been informed that its classed as a category c insurance write off! When I bought the car I was made aware that the engine was replaced by Nissan in 2001 due to a safety recall but no mention of the cat c. After attempting a bit of research I discovered that the Category C should be mentioned on the registration document but theres nothing at all. Also the service history notes that the cost of the engine replacement was just under 4 grand so surely that wouldnt have warranted writing off a 14 month old vehicle which would have been worth much more. Am I wrong in thinking it all seems a little dodgy? Any advice would be great because I'm at a total loss as to the best course of action to take from here. TIA
