Unfortunately I recently broke down on my motor bike to which the RAC sent out a subcontractor to recover (Tears Recovery) as I was on my way to My Family holiday, I had the bike recovered to a family members house (no damage) so a third party signed on receipt of my bike (not knowing if it was damaged) - by the way this is a get out clause, make sure YOU receive the vehicle, the following morning I was called by a family member to see if I was ok because I had fallen of my motor bike, (no I had a fuel leak so unsafe to ride) - I went along with the claims procedure and must say was contacted and updated regularly, I supplied images and a number of estimates for the damage, Tears Recovery admitted to breaking the kill switch and throttle bodies on the bike, when a final decision came through Tears Recover was not Accepting damage to the rest of the vehicle, funny as it is all on the same side, and obvious all damage is related, the RAC Breakdown complaints are happy with the response from the Sub Contractor (Tears Recovery) and are only paying for the kill switch £60 + labour the grand total of damage to my bike was £1300.00 so Im left now with a damaged unsafe to use motorbike, I will be following this up with the Financial Ombudsman Service and the Claims Management Regulator, with my solicitor,
Unfortunately for the RAC and Tears Recover there was no signed paper work on collection of the Vehicle and it was collected from a garage Forecourt with CCTV images of the bike leaving on the recovery truck (No Damage)
I am disappointed the RAC Care more about Protecting and Believing there Sub Contractors Then there Own Customers
BAD FORM!!!!!
