Problem with 2003 Nissan Micra

I am having problems with my Nissan Micra, it has had a new battery fitted and it is still toatally dead refusing to start.
The doors dont even open with the key.
There is nothing on the dash at all when i put the key in the ignition, anyone got any idea what the problem might be.
