First time poster and very sorry if I'm doing things the wrong way here.
I have a 56 plate Clio 1.5 dCi not starting. The engine is turning over but not firing up. It first started driving home, unexpectedly the car started to miss fire and judder. I pulled over a stopped the car. Its failed to start since then.
It's had a diagnostics test, and coming up with low pressure on fuel rail. There seems to be no leaking around the injectors, and removing the first injector is revealing that there isn't much diesel being pumped to the engine.
The filter has been replaced with the hope it was restricting the flow, but not luck. These cars are new to me, and the mechanic working on it. We are unsure if theres a a pump in the tank (been told there is, and also been told there isn't), or if its just the high pressure pump under the bonnet?
Don't really want to replace the high pressure pump (cheapest found atm of £400+vat) if its not needed.
Any help and advise is greatly appreciated.
