Query for the breakdown ops like Angela

Sorry, Angela, but you seem to handle a lot of the issues regarding breakdowns!

This is a query. I know full well that, if I have a breakdown when I am on a forestry track doing a MSA radio safety job, the RAC won't come out unless I'm recovered to an accessible point on a public road.

I note that someone has made a complaint about their breakdown and the terminology is that he had "taken part in an off road event".

I do not wish in any way to hinder or jeopardize any debate between the complainant referred to or the RAC but, for many marshals like myself who are not competitors but are there to provide safety cover for the event and have RAC cover, the term "taken part in" is ambiguous. Can you clarify that non-competitors are not considered to have "taken part in" such an event but are there within the requirements of the RACMSA safety rules? Similarly, that the same applies to those marshals who provide safety cover for the Mull and Jim Clark Rallies that are held over closed public roads?

PM me if you wish.
