I have just read on a local new site that there are glitches in Argyll because the contract DVLA has awarded to Specsavers to test drivers who require eyesight tests cannot be agreed between Specsavers and local opticians. Although the person highlighting this issue particularly for folks in Campbelown had overlooked there is a Specsavers in Oban, Campbeltown is still a 170 miles return trip from Campbelown and puts a lot of extra expense on the drivers in question.
I am not commenting on Specsavers per se, but more about this contract and asking who knew about it? Is this another stealth tax on motorists of a certain age or with certain conditions?
