Breakdowns and Ambulance chasers part II

If you read the original posting you will know the gist of it. Last night, I had yet another telephone call about the accident that never happened. This person would not tell me who they represented, or what their name was. He had my telephone number, my name, the make of my car and the date of the incident. He could not tell me the name of the road, nor the time that the incident occurred. When I pressed him further for his name, he put the 'phone down on me. When I rang 1471, I was given an 0845 number. When I hit 3 to ring the number, an automated message came on that the number was unrecognised. I got the same message when I dialled the number direct.

Messrs RAC, you have opened a whole can of worms with your insurance and ambulance chasers methods of making a few extra pounds through giving information about breakdowns and accidents. What has happened to the pledge not to divulge personal information to other companies. My telephone number which is private and unlisted is now in the general domain of the insurance chasing fraternity.
I need a reliable mobile service cover and I would go to the opposition, but I have a feeling that they also do the same. Anything to make a buck. I am angry, disgusted and the RAC have betrayed my trust. I have to weigh my options as to what steps I next take. I will tell you that I am considering the law courts.
