Hi,
My Ford Focus (2001) Zetec 1.8 Petrol was starting to struggle to accelerate. When I pressed on the accelerator, it DID accelerate, but it made hard work of it and I felt the need to build up a bit of speed before i accelerated (if that makes sense!). On Sunday I had just travelled 140 miles, and on the last few miles it started to judder a bit while i was coasting at 60mph.
So, RAC came out to it, and said it was probably the coil, plugs and new HT leads it needed? Which is fine and I will replace.
However, it was VERY low on oil ('dangerously low' he said) - so we topped it up.
Although I have yet to put a new coil, plugs and HT leads on it - ever since I topped up the oil, the car is driving fine and accelerating normally?! Could low oil have contributed to the problem?
Thanks
