Had a collision on a mini roundabout in 4. 2011.
I was giving my boyfriend lessons. It was the day before his driving test, which he passed first time.
Anyway, on a small road with a mini roundabout. Dry, clear day. We where on what was once a main road with a T junction style mini roundabout. So there is a road exit to our right and the road exit straight up. My boyfriend signalled to turn right (no traffic to our right) and we where a quarter on when the car to our left (straight up) saw us and stopped over the give way lines. 3/4 the way around the idiot decides to pull out. Having committed to turning (in the process) his front off side hits our nearside (passenger side) our light broke but we couldn't stop! Nor avoid him hitting us. As soon as we exited we pulled up on the verge off the road to be safe. The guy follows us and pulls next to us.
He refused to give a statement to his insurance and they refused to take us to court. He is now taking us to small claims court separately!
He is claiming for EVERYTHING!
Says we tried to run. Had to turn his car around. And we had no signal. And that he was already on the roundabout and we should have given way to him.
His so called witness says he drove way and came back 15mins later.
My insurance are giving us a solicitor and if we lose my insurance will pay out.
Just so fed up now.
