I had the misfortune to have to get back in a hurry from the lowest reaches of Galloway on Saturday owing to a family emergency. Because of my starting point I had to circuit Ayr on A77 heading north to Glasgow. The Scottish Airshow was on at Ayr.
Had to stop at a roundabout but the traffic from the right - that was merging from a dual carriageway onto a two lane road with traffic lights on their exit to the event but they didn't stop when they exit was blocked and prevented other traffic headed north. Within 15 minutes sat there obeying the rules of giving way to the right on a roundabout not controlled by lights as some are on A77, the queue behind was out of sight. Finally, two sensible drivers on the roundabout realized they couldn't exit and stopped and waved us northbound folks through.
Surely common sense tells you if on a roundabout and you can't get onto your exit road, you leave a gap for traffic heading in another direction.
