Afternoon everybody,
My Audi A3 has had its emmission light on for a long time - this is what the symbol looks like (not my car)

As above its been on for about 8 months and done a good 10,000 miles and I really cant tell any diffrence from before it came on apart from the light being on. I have been cleaning the car up recently just for a bit of TLC so was looking for some advice as to what checks I could do to try and get this off. I have looked at this on the internet and there are a few things that come up but if anybody can point me in the direction of what to check, where and how it would be appreciated.
