Hi guys. First post. Only been driving a year. Searched Gu***** and seemed to find a cracking wee motor. Polo 1.9 SDI. 98k. 54 plate. Went and seen it test drove it and bought it. Filled the log book in when buying it. But as I got the new log book through the door I noticed on the bottom it says "substantially repaired and/or accident damaged. Identity checked on 22.04.2010. Now the car cost £1300. I know it was substantially lower than other cars of the same model and miles e.t.c. but this "cat c or cat d" wasn't mentioned on the add I bought it from. I know I should have checked. Don't get me wrong I love my wee motor. Great MPG great wee runner. 50 miles per £5. Full service history just passed its MOT with flying colours. Clean inside and out. Wouldn't even know its been "substantially" repaired. Now what I want to know is.... Insurance. Say something happens along the line and I need to make a claim "touch wood" would the insurance company pay out if its a cat C car? And how easy will it be to sell on next year?
