Hi all,
My car is a 2001 Ford Focus 1.6 Ghia facelift
I have seen a few posts on here with this issue but wanted to see if people thought this was the same thing.
My focus occasionally with rev hunt. Normally a rev will cure this. It could return at the next junction or not again until the next trip. Today though something new happened.
I was just coming to a junction from 70mph and when I finaly stopped the rev counter stopped at 1000rpm and then slowly increased to about 1500rpm. Car pulled off fine and seemed ok. I got to work and turned engine off. Was still idling high at this point. Re-started the engine and it idled at 800rpm or so.
There is no warning lights on the dash. Its done 94k miles and its on a 51 plate with the Zetec-SE engine.
Could it be the breather hose splitting. Only reason I may doubt the hose is if surely it was split it would rev hunt or run high all the time?
Any advice would be massivly grateful as its now starting to stress me out :(
