Whilst driving on the M6 yesterday in my Renault Clio, complete with new engine, I ended up with a broken track rod end and a scary skid into a refuge area. I would like to thank your patrol who attended for ringing me to promise a quick response and then arriving within minutes to what was a very scary breakdown in a not nice place.
He made sure me and my friend were safe at all times, worked quickly and showed a depth of knowledge about the fault and possible consequences which was enlightening and also quite terrifying in terms of what could have happened. He then towed the car back to my parents house and dropped us both safely off. He seems genuinely interested in our plight and was a thoroughly nice guy with, as already stated, a superb level of knowledge. Compliments aren't always received when they shouuld be so I wanted to take the time to say thank you properly. I already rated the service as 'excellent' on the questionnaire but please consider this as further confirmation that it was a job well done.
The call would have been received via the West Midlands Regional Control Centre of the Highways Agency between 15:00 and 15:30 yesterday to a black renault clio broken down on the M6 Southbound somehwere in the region of Junctions 5-4. The patrol is normally based in Birmingham City Centre from what he was telling us. If you need any further details to identify him then please do contact me.
The only downside is the my insurer Endsleigh still, depsite a callout a couple of weeks ago, do not seem to have passed my details on to confirm i have added the cover on via them and am covered for breakdowns with you. This has twice now caused an issue with your own control room figuring out I am actually covered and is something I will be taking up with them separately.
Thank you once again, will hopefully be buying direct with yourselves next year and avoiding the hassle.
