I was sitting in a doctors waiting room the other day reading a random motoring magazine - like you do - and I came across an article about a BMW that occasionally cut out and after about a couple of minutes at rest the engine would start again with no problem. It may be days or weeks before it randomly cut out again often when it has been started and driven a hundred yards down the road. The response from an 'expert' was that it was most certainly due to a faulty fuel sensor which was easily fixed. What has this got to do with a ford fiesta you ask? Well my daughters 2004 fiesta finesse with over 100k on the clock but having been serviced regularly throughout its life, has a similar trait. We have not done anything about it as it is so random and irregular when it cuts out. But similar to the BMW it starts again no problem after waiting for a couple of minutes. It is so annoying - do any experts on this forum think it is the fuel sensor (whatever that is) and if so is it a quick fix?
