I have lost the gearchange on my 2010 Clio, with only 56,000 miles on it I think its too soon for a clutch to fail but:
Its the second time its happened.
Both times I've stopped after travelling in heavy rain, switched off, restarted and found that I cannot select a gear.
The last time after a bit of struggle I regained second and fifth and then full gearshifts and so carried on normally with no problems for roughly five weeks.
However this time its happened again and I cannot regain normal gearshifts
The clutch pedal behaves normally-has full feel.
With the engine off I can select all gears
With the engine running the vehicle creeps and unless the vehicle is moving its impossible to get into gear.
There are no peculiar noises coming from the gearbox/clutch casing
Has anyone out there had this problem-is it a known 2010 Clio fault?
Q: is it possible for a hydraulic damper/line fault to cause this.
Q: is it possible for water to get into the clutch and cause it to stick,i.e not release?
Advice is urgently needed before deciding on whether or not to replace clutch pipes/damper or open up the clutch, as you are aware that's a big and expensive job-by the way I've never had a clutch fault on any of my 10 or so previous vehicles
