Friend dying of terminal cancer in Yorkshire. Other friends just north of the border tell me can stay anytime as it's too long a haul from Mull and don't want to stress friend anymore - though still happy to kip on floor, etc. and only 1.5 down road from them. Gales meant no ferries and then w/end before last our dog collapsing meant first chance for 7 weeks shafted. Went down Sat (not without issues - i'll post separately) but whilst the usual culprits on the M-way were still there Disco 4, Range Rovers and RR Evoques were appalling. Same on Sunday down M6 and back though back to usual Audi BMW and - interesting, Golfs, heading up this morning.
What really got me was in the just north of Penrith on M6 northbound in a statutory 50mph a National Express coach 539 service to Edinburgh tanking past me well in excess of that speed limit. That driver had potentially 53 lives on board and flouted the law.
Interestingly, further south round Tebay services, the ANPR and 40 limit was generaly observed by all.
