Hi
Looking for information on the following problem regarding rear brake discs. Car has done 15,000 miles from new. Booked in for 2nd year service a month before official service due to grinding from FRONT pads when brakes applied. The front discs and pads were replaced under the warranty due to a manufacturing defect, flaking, of the discs. The garage wanted £250 to replace the rear discs as they were heavily rusted due to low mileage. I pointed out that the 4 discs could have come from the same batch and the rear should also be replaced under the warranty as they could develop the same fault -NO. Toyota only give 18 months or 18,000 miles warranty on brakes. Not the 5 year as advertised
I was told by the garage Discs heavily corroded - then it was a pad not disengaging - then the official one??????
After contacting Toyota the official diagnosis was that there was no defect in the rear brakes and damage was due to overheating of the pad due to low mileage and purely surface rust and very slight ridging on the disc. Any advice on this matter would be welcome.
Thanks
