New driving questions/tips

Hello, thanks for having me on the forum and sorry if these are stupid questions. I am a new driver. First 2 questions I had no problems with as a learner as instructor taught me reference points but since I have my own car I cannot seem to work it out - the reference points do not work the same way.

1) Is there a good way to learn the dimensions of my car or any reference points from when I am in the driving seat? I often drive with an experienced driver as a passenger and frequently will be waiting to give way due to say a parked car and passenger will tell me “you could fit 2 cars down here easily”. It turns out they are right but leads to next question

2) When I squeeze through they say “mind the parked cars / kurb!” but I seem also very close to the oppositely moving car so I can’t really move any more towards it! Same goes when driving on narrow B roads, passenger will say I’m close to the verge but I’m also close to the oncoming car doing 60mph! I sometimes suspect it’s just a case of back seat driving and if it was a left hand drive car (classic Mustang dream car hehe) and they were sitting on the right they would be saying the opposite (too close to that oncoming car) but I just end up yielding to experience on this one

3) Roundabouts I find it awkward to use the right hand lane unless I am taking the LAST exit even if 2nd to last is still a right turn. For example there is a roundabout near me with 4 exits (excluding entry road) exit 3 is a slight right and 4 is a sharp right turn. If I enter the roundabout in the right hand lane some people think I’m taking the last exit and occupy the left hand lane which I have to cut across to take exit 3. Sometimes entering the roundabout they even sit beside me in the left lane to take exit 3 which results in 2 cars trying to exit at once.(exit 3 is a single lane road.) Is this their fault or mine?

Apologies for the long thread thanks a lot for taking the time to read.
