car is 2008, 29000miles from new.1.2litre,16valve petrol .Starts and runs perfectly.Persistant and reoccurring fault is that the engine management light comes on during tickover or in traffic....Code reader says P0313 .......low fuel level..... even when the tank is full and the gauge shows full.Car runs extremely well and returns up to 45 mpg and in the lower gears can be redlined without any protest......If there is a fuel problem surely it would get worse when driven hard ? dash light
is accompanied by slightly rough running .Taken for the MOT passed with excellent emissions. As a fairly skilled DIY mechanic I have investigated .my carefully maintained and used car.New spark plugs, both old and new are spot on colourations and match one another exactly. Aircleaner OK engine breather pipes are clear,Injectors cleaned in ultra-sonic bath.Checked tappets and compressions..all OK.Throttle box cleaned and checked. perfect...Unplugged all the engine sensors checked for good connections.Fuses and relays all clean dry and OK. Plug leads and coil assembly all
clean, tidy and undamaged.Made myself a petrol pump locating ring removing tool, pump out, blown out with compressed air and filter is clean. There doesnt appear to be any leaks on the manifolds, inlet or exhaust. in traffic when the problem
shows up it can be cleared for a short time by switching off and restarting the engine.
Does anyone have any ideas on how I can solve this annoying problem which is spoiling my enjoyment of an otherwise very pleasant little car?
