Hello there. I really need some help. My car broke down 8 weeks ago and took it to a near by garage where after three weeks of dropping it off they told me it needed timing chain replacing and charged me £850 however i didnt pay as the needed to order the parts and tool. they never got in touch with me to give me an update on any work they were doing. I kept calling them and all they told me was oh sorry other cars are booked and we are waiting for parts and tools. after 4 weeks i received a call from the chief mechanic who then told me it was also the piston rings that had to be rrplaced and that would now cost me 1050£. And he told me he would start working on the cat straight away. all along iv been to one ringing asking about my car and after 2 weeks i rang again i was told oh sorry we r waiting for the parts. Its now 8 weeks if not nine and everytime i ring im told either my car is complicated or its not ready. Jist yesterday i went to the garage and they told me they had fitted the chain and the piston rings and all that was left to do was to start the car and see if it works and that they would call me today but i did not receive any call from them.
I feel like im being misled and or they have not fixed it at all. How do i go about taking my car back? and in the event that they did fit the chain and piston rings and its still not starting what do i do becoz they had sed that would fix my car.
