hi*all. thanks for looking. I bought a 2012 Vauxhall Meriva, 1.7 cdti, last week. this morning the code 82 has appeared on the dashboard, which relates to needing an oil change, and also the 'service soon' light has illuminated. The above is fine, I can get it serviced no problem, but what has also happened is a reduction in power. it had a real kick to it's acceleration, but now it is accelerating sluggishly. Will the engine reduce power automatically when it needs new oil, or is there another fault? I got a 3 months warranty from the dealer, but the dealership is 50 miles away and I don't want to make the journey and wait around for the repair if the power problem will go away after a service. Also, I should add that it got up to 80mph on the motorway this morning. it' just the state of acceleration which is the problem. I thought limp mode limited the speed overall.
