I have recently started having problems with my Ford Focus. It had alot of MOT repair work done to it at the end of September, mainly due to corrosion - both front brake pipes, nearside front sill and fuel filler pipe, and I have also had it serviced after the MOT repairs at the end of October. I don't know if it is just coincidental, but since then the accelerator has started making a hissing noise at 2000 revs and when I'm driving it and need that bit of extra power, sometimes it isn't there which can be quite dangerous when accelerating onto roundabouts or overtaking. I'll be pushing the accelerator down and the engine revs will be going up but it feels like the car is straining itself and not increasing in speed.
