I purchased a Renault Kangoo van 13th October from a man on face book selling page so I assumed he was a private seller. He then asked me to write a review on his Business page! He has a registered Motors Ltd company to his home address where I purchased the vehicle from. The heater never worked so we took it to be fixed after 3 weeks and advised the man. They couldn't find the fault, the when they suggested it may be the head gasket the man said they were trying to pull a fast one and get it back from the garage which we did. A week later it had to be recovered by the RAC due to over heating. The next garage advised it needed a new engine but due to his ill health it never got repaired. 14th Dec we dropped the van back at the original mans house where we picked the vehicle up from and he said he would get his mechanic to look at it. He then said it would cost us £650.00 for the cost of new engine and to be fitted. ..reluctantly we agreed as we needed the van and thought we had no rights....We never got a new engine fitted and the van is still with him and he's now charging me £65 p/h for his time and £8 van storage and labour costs totally £1200 so far.....The invoice says "Trade Sale" and we wrote on his business page....The guy is stating that he sold it in his name on facebook and its not trade, so our Consumer Rights Act 2015 section 23 does not apply.
