Hi
I have a Vauxhall Corsa C, 1.3 CDTI, 2004, with just over 118,000 miles.
Over the past few bitterly cold days, an issue has arisen with the engine antifreeze. When I top the reservoir tank up with antifreeze, it stays in the tank for a few seconds, and then exits from the bottom leaving it empty. This has mystified me. So instead of putting more antifreeze in and wasting it, I have tried to see what happens if I just put plain water in. Even if I top up the water right till the filler cap, it exits via the bottom hole leaving the reservoir empty almost immediantly.
This is being accompanied by a slight overheating of the engine, together with no warm air out of the heaters. So I am assuming that the antifreeze/water is not passing through the system. Not had a chance to see if there is an obvious leak at the bottom, but the fact that the water/antifreeze is "sucked" straight out of the reservoir has got me concerned. Wondering if its about time I got myself a new car
Any help/ideas appreciated.
