Friend has just acquired a new to her vehicle which has this stop/start if you're stationary at traffic lights. She's coped with the key-less bit but she does a lot of driving where single track roads are involved. Now, I had the occasion to have to hire a car with one of these systems and it was a nightmare at the height of Mull's tourist season and don't recommend them for our roads, especially on hills. She does have a manual over-ride but isn't sure if the permanent use of this will cause problems longer term.
She's also gone from years of an automatic to a manual - I'm sure she'll manage that okay. She'd normally look on Land Rover forums - new to her car is a Freelander 2 and yes, she got a proper spare wheel! but she's on the move and Internet is intermittent.
