i need some advice, my 2008 smax has had trouble starting and i call out an ttechnician about two months ago, the technician plugged in his laptop and reset all fault codes , he said there was a problem with the communication as the car battery was dead and required replacing on his advice i replaced the battery and had no fault until today when the car wouldn't start, again i called out a technician, this time the technician who turned seemed not to want carry out any work and insisted it must be the starter motor and was very keen to get it taken to a garage, I told him about the previous call and asked him if this could be the same problem, he told me that he couldn't link his laptop to the car as the car wouldn't, when I explained that the previous technician tested with the car in the same condition he started to get annoyed.
My qusetion is this true or is the technician on some sort retainer from the garage.
