Hi everyone, I am a new driver and am confused by procedure for multi lane roundabouts in regards to exiting the roundabout.
I am aware you will generally approach the roundabout in the left hand lane for exits 1 and 2 and the right hand lane for exits 3 and 4.
However, when on the roundabout do you:
(a) - Stay in the lane you joined in until you reach the exit prior to the exit you wish to leave, indicate and then move across all lanes OR
(b) - Move across one lane to the left as you go past a major exit
I am concerned that when I attempt to exit a roundabout, especially if it is a third or fourth exit I will simply end up crashing into a car in one of the left hand lanes. I do realise you check your mirrors before exiting but surely this may mean you end up stuck in the middle of the roundabout until it is clear which is an obvious danger.
Any help will be appreciated as people are telling me different things.
Regards,
Sam.
