I've a 56 plate mk3 mondeo TDCI, 2.0l, 130 and am getting P0405 and P0401 codes recorded in the engine mgt. I've done the basic checks - made sure none of the pipes have splits, removed the EGR valve and cleaned it, made sure it opens and shuts with a vacuum. Now wondering what the next stage of diagnosis should be ? The car runs perfectly well but the engine light is a bit of an irritation. The light comes back on after only a few miles after clearing the codes.
