Hi all, please excuse my lack of car knowledge! I recently bought a v-reg astra (16v) off my wife (now separated). It's a great car still in really good condition. Got through its MOT last month and is now insured, taxed etc for another year. Now here's my problem - in the last 2-3 weeks the EML has been coming on. It doesn't flash, it comes on - stays on for about 30 secs (sometimes longer, sometimes shorter) then goes off. It then comes on intermittently and at times it rarely shows up. Is this something I need to worry about? When the light does comes on there is no pull in the car, it carries on fine - but in me carrying on driving like this will it eventually lead to something more serious? Oil is topped up, brake fluids fine, water levels fine, power steering fluid fine, etc. Could it be a sensor or maybe a bit of dirt somewhere? I know it is 16 years old but its a really good car to be honest. I know it has had a new lamda fitted in the last 12 months and I also know that last year my wife took it for an MOT and it only just passed the emissions so would that have anything to do it? I'd appreciate any advice - Cheers all :-)
