Liability...

Hi, I'm just after a little bit of advice/perspective..

In August, I was involved in an accident on a roundabout: a bloke crossed from lane 3 to lane 1, hitting me in lane 2.. he did this because he was in the wrong lane and was obviously going to miss his exit(based on where he told me he was travelling to).. His nearside front hit my offside rear. For roughly a month afterwards, he argued liability, claiming I crossed into his lane, I was speeding etc (both of which are untrue) and then he sent in a letter and diagram to his insurance company, saying something along the lines of.. "he did cross the lanes 'cos he realised he was going to miss his exit, and he didn't look before switching lanes, because he presumed it would be clear.."

BUT he's still not admitting liability! 4 months later, and my insurance company (Admiral) is trying to get his insurance company (Aviva) to accept that he is liable. I'm due to renew my insurance in January, but I don't want to renew with an unsettled claim on my policy, because I don't think it's fair and I really can't afford that! Is there anything I can do to hurry things along? My insurance company doesn't seem bothered by the pace of things, and have said they don't expect to be settled for a while yet. Any advice??

Thanks :)
