Zafira 60 plate elite

I have a 60 plate Vauxhall Zafira elite. Recently it has been going into limp mode, struggling to start if starting at all. I had engine management light on which was saying egr needed replacing. I purchased some egr cleaning kit, took the egr off and cleaned it completely however the two pipes either side of the egr were very clogged too and could not get into these fully to clean. The car was still not starting all the time and when did start chugged up to 1000rpm then died within seconds. After putting some Diesel engine cleaner into the full tank it eventually started running, holding the power on 3200rpm for about 5 mins clouds and clouds of white / very pale blue smoke was pouring out the back along with a black liquid which was dripping out exhaust. Once I started driving it hard on motor way after a while these clouds stopped and it's currently running fairly normally.
My main question is to get people opinion on if you think I have solved the problem? If this smoke means the turbo is on its way out? How long it will last now I've cleared it a bit? Anyone's experiences of this kind of fault etc?
Bit of a novice with fixing cars and learning as I go so any advice or opinions etc would be greatly received.
Am tempted to get rid of the car but I like the spec etc so not sure if I'm getting rid of a car that will be ok now or it I keep it it will cost me a fortune soon?
