Morning all,
Was hoping someone might be able to give me a bit of guidance. Went to start my car up this morning (details below), however it cut out as soon as it started (<1 sec). Tried this twice more to the same effect. There is a small amount of smoke coming out of the exhaust when trying to start it. Any ideas on what might be wrong? Anything easy which I might be able to fix myself (I'm by no means a mechanic, but can follow some simple instructions and I'm ok with a basic toolkit). Alternatively I have breakdown cover and I've had them fix things before.
If not something I can fix myself, how much (roughly) am I looking at to get fixed at a garage? Have read some horror stories of diesel turbos going bust and costing both arms and a leg to replace and would just like to know what sort of ballpark I am looking at.
