We acquired a "Cherished" Mini Countryman about 5 months ago. When braking at slow speed the brakes make a sound like sandpaper is rubbing over the discs. BMW/Mini after sales have changed the rear discs and pads and the noise persists. It has just been back to after sales again, and this time after "extensive" road tests with the chief technician we are informed this is common to this model. The suggestion was that because it wasn't a safety issue we would have to put up with it. Has anyone had the same issue? I notice on a forum in the US the issue has also been raised. I find it extraordinary that a company of BMW's stature would release a model with such a defect.
