RAC renewal policy - The morals of a sewer rat BEWARE

My partner has had RAC cover for several years and whilst the service provided by RAC has been acceptable the renewal process is a rip off worthy of the worst excesses of Wonga.

When the renewal is due the RAC generates a single email approx. 4 weeks before the renewal date, no further notification is attempted, NO second email, NO letter NO text, No phone call so the first notification is the credit card statement which provides notification in a time scale that is outside of the 14 day cool off notification. To compound the problem the RAC rewards customer loyalty with a huge hike in premiums ( over £30) despite there being no call out during the previous 12 months.

This company RAC has a renewal policy that is designed to be deceitful and not open, designed to catch people out not help.

Be very careful to ensure that you do not get ensnared in the "auto renewal" trap, the system is cynically designed to catch people out.

If John Lewis PLC is at one end of the spectrum the RAC is as bad as John Lewis is good.
