I have a 2008 Ford Focus Titanium TDci. I have been having issues where it feels like the breaks are engaging repeatedly on all my journeys and the ESP light will come on. I had this same issue last april and took it to my local Gates who rinsed me of as much money as possible. It took them 8 attempts to fix my car. In the end a senior technician told me they bent some Sensor pins back into place.
When the car started doing the exact same I was forced to take it back to gates but took it back to a different branch. The technician stated that a number of error codes come up when initially running diagnostics and when he reset it the only code that reoccured was P0002 but stated that there had also been an error code C1956 that had come up but goes when he resets it.
They quoted me at almost £1200 to repair the fault stating that the code P0002-61 was related to the fuel metering central valve and that you cannot buy the sensor seperate you have to buy the whole part. As far as I am concerned my car shows no symptoms that would make me believe that it had an issue with the fuel pressure sensor. The brakes engage, its the brakes engaging and not a loss of power, and the ESP light comes on. It starts first time, I never experience surges in power. After my past experiences with gates I am reluctant on allowing them to do the work as the technician only 'thinks' that should sort my problems. Was looking for some advice.
