Collisions with Stray Dogs

Can anyone tell me where we stand with damage to the car by a stray dog that ran out in front of me (the dog is ok BTW, just badly swollen and bruised). Have been in touch with the owner and the dog is not insured.

How will this affect my insurance no claims and premiums?

Is there a group that covers this like there is for uninsured drivers?

Any information would be much appreciated.
