On a France motorway, a few days after crossing the Eurotunnel, my Audi A3 started to misfire and the dashboard engine management warning light flashed.
The dashboard warning advised that the car shouldnt exceed 3k revs and misfiring and juttering continued. Eventually i pulled up on the hard shoulder and called out the French motorway emergency services who pulled us to a local garage.
I realised we didnt have breakdown cover, so had the garage investigate and they suggested it should require new sparks.
On further investigation, they advised a part of the spark has broken away and falled into the engine and they would require 15 days to open the engine to find the issue. I then had the car towed to Audi who have advised me the car needs a complete engine swap out at a cost of 15K euros.
This doesnt right to me.
Any advise on how i can get the car back to London?
