Insurance refusing to sort car fully or even check it.

Last week I had a minor bump approx 5 mph which was my fault. Looked to be very little damage minor dent and a bit of a cracked bumper on theirs and a damaged headlight and bumper on mine so I said I would sort the other car but reported to insurance as you should. The same company represents us both.

Immediately after the bump the ABS and service warning light came on in mine but then went off and all seemed ok but there was a slight whiring noise from the breaks at low speed when breaking and the warning light is staying on when I start the car longer than it should and the windscreen wipers are now rattling like mad. The report came back on the other car as 2000 worth of damage niether of us could believe it tow bar, exhaust, bumper all damaged even though I never actually collided with the tow bar or the exhaust we were at an angle.

As it had to be paid through the insurance I decided to get mine sorted but they are refusing to check the ABS and are saying that the windscreen wiper issue wasn't caused by the bump so are refusing to sort those as they weren't directly collided with. They also authorised the repairs with the garage before they spoke to me to see if I wanted it done. Seems obvious to me that if the wipers and the abs light weren't doing this before they should sort them is there any way of challenging this?
