Passenger Door only locks sometimes

Hi

I have a Clio 2005. Few month back somebody has gone into the side of me or so it seems when I've been parked up. Directly into the handle area. The door initially wouldn't even shut so had a mechanic knock it out a bit with a hammer. It shuts now. Apart from it looking awful however sometimes the door doesn't lock with central locking.

Any idea what the issue is? If it didn't work at all fair enough but the fact it is intermittent is confusing me
