I own a 1995 1JZ-GTE Toyota Soarer.
The other day on the way to work, i hit the brake pedal and it made all the electrics go out, took my foot off and they came back on.
It did this a couple of times and I assumed it must be some sort of glitch.
I parked my car up and went to work, when i had finished, my car would not start. I jump started it off of a friends corsa and it drove for a few metres and then died again- so I called the RAC out to try and help.
The patrol guy came and tested all the fuses and relays in the engine bay, nothing but a battery light on the dash board when the key was in. He actually broke one fuse out of the socket and had to replace it, I'm not yet sure if this has caused any further issues.
He then took out my drivers side door sill and pulled the carpet away in the foot well to reveal the secondary fuse box, he played around with this for a few minutes, and then suddenly the car alarm sounded and wouldn't stop, two resonators in the engine bay where stuck on making a very loud racket. He didn't undo whatever he had done in the footwell and just let them keep going, all of a sudden- smoke started appearing from the engine bay. My car is now stranded at work in a worse condition than before i called the RAC.
I'm quite worried that the electrical fire has caused serious damage to my wiring loom- which will end up costing me thousands.
I am yet to have the car looked at by a garage, but if this is the case i will definitely be in contact with the complaints department
