Hi i'm new to the forum and not sure if this has any place in this section, sorry if im posting in the wrong place but i'm in a bind and don't know what to do.
I put my car in for it's MOT with a garage a few weeks ago and it failed, they gave me a quote for work needing done to fix it, which included running diagnostics to sort a fault in the computer and a bunch of other work including welding.
I gave them consent to carry out the needed list of repairs in order for the car to pass it's MOT.
Since then however the garage have contacted me to let me know a part that is apparantly faulty needed replacing and they couldn't source it, so asked me to buy one from ebay. I did this, took it in and low and behold another part is now 'faulty' that they might have trouble finding a replacement for.
The repair bill is slowly but surely overtaking the value of the car, before we factor in the new MOT fee for it being over 10 days from the MOT fail date and the costs to me for transport whilst I don't have my car are starting to add up and make it cheaper overall to just tell them to scrap the car to recoup their costs so far and buy a new car.
Ideally i'd like my car back ASAP as they have told me every day 'tomorrow' and well tomorrow is always going to be tomorrow at this rate.
Where do I stand on this?
