Hi guys. Sorry if this is posted in the wrong section, im sure someone will let me know :)
I was on my way to work the other day when I noticed a loud noise from under the bonnet. I was nearly at work so i limped it there and called the RAC. The guy turned up and immediately diagnosed it as an injector seal leaking. He also told me that as its a mechanical fault and NOT wear and tear that I'd be able to use my garage parts and labour. He took it to a local approved garage who phoned me today and told me that it is indeed the injector seal at fault. The RAC have refused the claim as it is a wear and tear item. The garage said it will be a minimum of £280 to fix, maybe more if its a stubborn injector. It just seems unfair that an injector seal would be classed as wear and tear. It's a copper washer i believe, hardly like a rubber bush/gaiter. Anyway, my whole family have decided to switch to AA now as my brother has just used their parts and labour cover without any problems what so ever. It just feels like this is one of those types of cover that promises the earth, until you actually need it, then they'll use any excuse not to actually pay out.
