Hi all,
Sometime in the next few weeks I will have to drive a loaded van from Kent to Pembroke towing a trailer. Can anyone tell me if a full Irish B class licence (car & van up to 3500kg) will cover me to do this.
The van is insured to tow a trailer up to 750kg laden weight and my licence covers me to drive it in Ireland but I have been told that the regulations regarding the towing of trailers have changed recently in the UK and the last thing I want to happen is to have the van impounded or get a ticket myself.
I have had a look at some of the gov.uk websites but I am still not 100% sure.
I understand the regulations regarding lights, number plate etc but not the area regarding weights etc. And what are the speed limits on the motorways for a vehicle towing a trailer?
Any advice would be gratefully appreciated and if you could tell me a website where I could get this info in plain English it would be brilliant.
Yours patdoll
