Hi I hope that someone can help with my issues regarding my Zafira.
The car broke down on Christmas Day and we had it towed to a Vauxhall dealer. Prior to this, it had been losing power for about a month according to the wife but she only fessed up after it broke down...
The service manager initially told us that the issue was an inlet manifold leak and the DPF pipe being blown. We were quoted a cost of c. £1500 to get it fixed and I managed to get that down to around £1200 as funds are tight. We were told that the entire inlet manifold had to be replaced together with the DPF pipe.
Now we've been told that the DPF needs complete replacing which will cost an additional £1,000. I have already gone through some trouble scraping up the initial £1200, let alone pay an additional £1,000.
I suggested to service manager if I could replace the DPF so that the car can run and then deal with the other problems later in the month when I am paid. He said that this would mean that the new DPF would get blocked up within the week. I did some internet research and dont think this is true. Clearly if I had the money I would get everything done and not risk additional problems. Any suggestions from wise heads on the forum?
