Owned this car for 4 years no problems. Then one day in June it wouldn't start (temp outside was 29) red flashing stop light ondashwith glowing coil .
Git car going went shopping went back car same again. Rescue guy came out didn't know what it was...then car started...Later that evening. NExt day the same. Went to autoelectrician who without seeing car producing fault changed
Crankshaft sensor I went to collect and it failed. He but didn't know what it was. I managed to get it home and it sat on my drive for three months.
Then another garage said it was fuel filter....changed but not that. When car runs its perfect....then out of nowhere no warning engine shuts down and lights appear..it's driving us crazy. Checked all wiring fir loose wires... There are bubbles in fuel lines and sometimes if you prime bulb it will start but test this with pipe and it ran through ok with bubbles.
Anyone know of this problem?
Have fitted these parts....
Egr valve (as this was a known code) crank sensor, transponder, fuel filter,
Cleaned and checked fuel sender, fuel flow actuator/regulater,
Removed inlet pipe with bulb oh from filter placed a new 5l fuel can with short length of pipe no longer than 2ft sucked new fuel from the can to create a syphoning action and connected to fuel filter inlet connection where the priming bulb connection usually goes...started engine with no faults at all...held. At 3000rpm for a good few mins with no problems.
Eventually removed can after fuel level became low and air entered pipes...re connected original fuel lie from tank restarted engine held at 2500 rpm and engine cut out after 30 seconds. Re tried again after re start same fault again...
The conclusion drawn was that like from tank may be restricted in some way..thoroughly cleaned all sender parts filter pipes galleries..removed substantial amount of crud from sender refitted took car for test drive up to 70 mph in 4thgear revving high for 30 mins no faults.
Tried car an hourly get it just stopped..
IS THIS AN ECU FAULT OR FUEL TRANFSER PUMP INCORPORATED IN FUEL INJECTION PUMP IN THISMODEL.
FUEL PUMP IS NOT IN REAR BUT IS LOCATED IN FUEL INJECTION PUMP ON THIS MODEL
CLIO 1.5dci 2004 dynamite 100 bhp 81,000 car seems more faulty within first ten mi s/cold
