Hi,
I own a 2013 Vauxhall insignia 2 litre diesel, the car is 2 years old at the end of the year and has done 26000 miles. For the last 3 months the service due message has appeared and as this appears when there is a fault I have had Vauxhall have a look. The first time it went in they told me the DPF was 90% saturated; they had done a manual clear of it however recommend I take it down the motorway. It was suggested my driving style was to blame. 85% of my mileage is motorway and due to the time I start work I don't encounter traffic and it is a straight run down at 70mph, averaging 2500 revs which is more than sufficient for the DPF to self clean. I took their advice anyway and there were no issues until 4 days later when the light appeared again. Due to the fact Vauxhall couldn't look at it again for 3 weeks the message eventually went however they looked at it again on Thurs. The car was returned and they said they could not find a fault and the DPF had regenerated as it was now 26% saturated. They said the download shower the error messages as being failed regen attempts. I collected the vehicle and was advised there was nothing wrong with it.
Today I have covered 30 miles down the motorway in 5th gear at 70/80 mph only for the service due light to come on again. I feel as though I am hitting my head against a brick wall with Vauxhall. Has anyone had the same issue or similar or could suggest what the issue is or what is causing it? The problem has only come on 3 months ago, I have owned the car 12 months and there is no change to my commute or driving style.
Thanks in advance.
