Good Morning, Please accept my appreciation of your assistance straight away.
Please can I request feedback on the below scenario:
I left work and drove to a supermarket. Spent 10 minutes in the shop buying for our evening meal. I then jumped back in the car to drive home. Unfortunately on this journey I was part of a crash.
I informed my insurance company of which they stated I only had social, domestic and pleasure (SDP) insurance excluding commuting to work. I didnt realise this and its come as a shock.
My argument is there are clearly two distinct journeys. Journey one is from work to the supermarket. I now realise I didnt have the correct insurance here and will resolve ASAP. Journey two was from a supermarket to home which for me falls in the SDP category as its private driving.
The insurance company are pushing that this is all a commute from work.
Has anyone got any feedback? Anything would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
