Hi, Has anyone seen the new average speed cameras recently erected on the A12? They are a god damn joke and very sneaky. I'm not a regular user of the road and only been using it this week for work. Today was the only day I actually seen the speed camera sign which made me actively look for the speed cameras.
I'm used to seeing the large tall yellow post with a camera on top, clearly visible from a distance. These ones on the A12 and embedded in the tree line, the post is painting green to match the tree line and the camera itself is yellow, but smaller and less visible.
I was always had the understanding that speed cameras aren't trying to catch people and raise money but to act as a deterrent to reduce speed in accident black spots. These average speed cameras are clearly falling foul of this and personally i find it disguising.
As I said early, I did not seen the sign till today, mostly because I was probably overtaking (at this peed limit) and the sign was blocked by the other vehicle.
